Where in the world is your classroom?

Mystery Skype
By Student Blogger Dylan

On June 3, 2019 Team Gibbas students walked into the library for their first ever Mystery Skype. Each of these students had a special job to help the skype run smoothly. The jobs were the Greeter, the Questioner, the Answerer, Runners, Google Mappers, State/Country Experts, the Think Tank, the Supervisor, the Photographer, and the Blog Post Person. When the skype first started the Mystery Class told us they were in fifth grade.  After going back and forth we figured out they lived Canada and they bordered the US. They figured out we lived in Massachusetts. The Think Tank kept sending up questions about what province they were in. Finally we guessed New Brunswick. The classroom we were Skyping lived in Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada! Their class is a French Immersion class which means 80% of their class is taught in French. 5,000 people live in their town. The other class told us that near their town is the largest covered bridge in the world! A fact about their school is they do not have to make up any snow days no matter how many snow days they have. In their school there are  students from 32 different countries. Their town is known for Old Home week which is like a carnival.

Thank you Mrs. Klipfel for helping us to make this fun learning connection!
